14 Aug The first Stormforce 7.4 of 2015
MRL in Southampton have succeeded in their re-invention of our Stormforce 7.4 model. Ed Pedley from MRL felt that it was the perfect size of RIB for an entry level expeditionary cruising boat and with his flair for design he had re-energized a model that now looks as good as it handles.
The new boats are all set-up with the serious RIB cruising enthusiast in mind. Standard set-ups include a stern outboard well, with large aft bench seat and generous under storage, 2 or 4 KPM Scot seats and stand-alone cruising console with the latest in Garmin GPS chartplotter technology.
This latest boat for existing customer Clive Richardson was ordered mid 2014 and although ready for delivery before the Southampton Boat show the handover was stalled until January 2015 with the new boating season in mind. It is powered by the ultra reliable and effiicient Suzuki DF 250 APX engine which benefits from the latest in fly-by-wire technology.
The boat has a top speed of 50 knots and cruises comfortably at 1 litre per mile at 28 knots which with the generously proportioned 315 litre fuel tank gives the boat a range in excess of 250 Nautical miles in almost any weather conditions.
Clive specified the boat to be finished in the new range of Spradling Carbon Fibre upholsteries and with the Henshaw Military grey tube it really is a very smart boat indeed.
TEAM REDBAY would like to wish Clive all the best with his new boat and we hope to see him in ARDBEG for a wee dram soon.
