Through uncertain times through the world Redbay Boats has remained strong, with a full order book. With places starting to open up and we have been able to enjoy being out doors again we are delighted to be able to deliver boats we have been working on throughout 2020. So far this year we have built and delivered 13 Stormforce RIBS, varying from 6.1m up to our Brand New model the 1450.

Stormforce 650

So far this year we have built 6 Stormforce 650s with another 2 due for delivery in the second half of 2021. The 650 is the ideal introductory RIB due to the fact that it is easily handled, easily towed and can take you almost anywhere in the UK and Ireland. It also makes the perfect RIB for family fun, water sports and island hopping. The 650 has a spacious deck meaning any arrangement can be achieved with the numerous seating and console options we offer. The 6 built this year each had variable specifications, all were built for the leisure market.

Stormforce 7.4

One step up from the 650 is our Stormforce 7.4. The 7.4 features all the same characteristics as the 650 the only key difference is a much larger deck space opening up more possibility for deck arrangement. This customer opted for our explorer 4 seater side by side console fitted with a 9 inch Garmin GPS, Garmin VHF, Digital Yacht AIS and Fly-by-wire single 300hp Suzuki

Stormforce 1050

This Stormforce 1050 was built purely for fast cruising. Fitted with twin Suzuki’s latest 300hp outboards flat out the boat saw speeds upwards of 53knots with a fuel burn of 195L/hr. However cruising at 30knots showed a total furn burn of 80L/hr. The high bow on the 1050 gives a sense of security in big seas and with added trim-tabs it can handle any sea whilst maintaining speed. A first for the 1050 is the all black design giving it a sleek and stealthy look, the customer added his touch by adding a dropped rubbing streak with red inset which looked incredibly well against the all black exterior and matching boat names.

Stormforce 1150

This one-off Stormforce 1150 was built as a seasafari boat with a full Department of Marine P5 licence. It was constructed using our 1150 hull and our 11m canopy cabin. As the 1150 hull is 6 inches wider and 0.5m longer the deck space has been increased dramatically allowing for 14 POD seats to fit comfortably withing the canopy shelter.  The boat was fitted with twin Yanmar 4LV-250hp inboard diesels with Yanmar ZT370 Sterndrives, the boat cruised effortlessly at 25knots burning a total of 45L/hr. Pushed on it reached a top speed of 36knots.

Stormforce 1150

Number 7 of our Stormforce 1150 is a fully spec’ed boat with almost every option installed. This boat is intended to be used for commercial and leisure applications. It features a hydraulic lifting gantry on the aft deck for raising and lowering marine equipment and is fully coded with stability book. The exterior has been finished in cream with caribe green hypalon tubes, all set off with the full synthetic teak decks from FlexiTeek.

Stormforce 1450

This year seen the launch of our latest model the Stormforce 1450. In development over the winter months we set out to build a boat that will have 3 comfortable double rooms and have all the modern amenities for long distance cruising. We decided to build all brand new moulds for each compartment of the boat so that manufacturing can be made easier reducing the total build time, in addition to reducing weight in order to boost performance.

Originally designed to be a Twin engine POD drive boat we weighted up our options and decided to alter our hull design so that it would fit Triple Yanmar 8LV370 Inboards with ZT370 drives. This made the 1450 one of the first production boats in the UK to have such an engine package. For a lot of our customers shallow water ability is key, this why we chose sterndrive propulsion as with the middle leg trimmed up the boat’s draft can be reduced to less than 1 meter. If draft is not a concern the 1450 can also be fitted with twin Volvo IPS drives.

During the sea trail of boat number 1, the triple Yanmar 370hp engines pushed the boat to a top speed of 37 knots with a cruising speed of 22knots and a total fuel burn of 120 L/Hr. This give the boat a range of 380 miles with its three 670l fuel tanks.

The Stormforce 1450 features 3 king size cabins each fully moulded in a single piece to give them a clean and finished look. All cabins have full standing head height below the wheelhouse floor, making the boat very spacious and comfortable. A large toilet cubical up front is fitted with a 700x700mm shower cubical fed with hot and cold water from a 80 litre hot water calorifier and 350 litre cold fresh water tank. The boats interior is trimmed out with a mix of oak timber and stainless steel fittings with teak and holly flooring. Upholstery colours are customer specific with many different options to choose from.

The standard wheel house layout features 5 Grammer Avento Air seats, a horseshoe shaped bench seat wrapped around a bespoke oak dining table, a long galley unit opposite which is fitted with fridge, oven, hob and sink with running hot and cold water.

Stormforce 1450-2

The second Stormforce 1450 hit the water just 3 months after the first and commissioned for a long standing customer of ours John Brennan. John has a great vision when it comes to interior design. Like his 1150 previous, his new 1450 has been carefully designed using materials and fabrics not to uncommon in luxury hotels. The wheelhouse was carefully laid out for comfort and style in mind with deep bench seats making it a very relaxing space.

The galley is spread out over the port and starboard sides of the cabin, matte slab style drawer faces on the galley give it an ultra modern look finished off with copper strips along the top drawers. The starboard side galley is “U” shaped and fitted with a large sink, hob and combi-oven. The best feature of this galley is the large window that opens out to the back deck where there is a counter top adjacent, perfect for socialising with food and drinks. The port side of the galley features a large 85 litre fridge and a handcrafted walnut book case.

The rest of the wheelhouse is bright and airy with light coloured upholstery contrasted against the walnut flooring and trims. Down below the limed oak walls and doors brighten the area to the 2 king size cabins both fitted out in a mix of different fabrics and textiles.
