25 Apr Busy Times At Redbay
Stormforce automatic widlass detail
It’s been a busy couple of months at Redbay Boats. After sucessfully getting Tom’s 50th Birthday party out of the way it was time to get back to the business of building RIB’s the range and variation have been as remarkable as ever and we have had some great fun with some new customers and a few old. We have successfully completed and delivered 6 boats since our last report, they include :
Bouncer (Stormforce 11) : Commissione by Mr Brian McListers, his 3rd boat from the Redbay Family
Achnaba (Stormforce 11) : Mr Murdo MacLeod, his 1st Redbay RIB
Stormbreaker (Stormforce 8.4) : Commisioned by Paul and Bryn Beeaurain, veteran Ribsters but there 1st Redbay
Bryn Teg (Stormforce 9.1) : Commisioned by John and Mary McDermott. Johhn and Mary move from a Cygnus Cyfish to a Redbay RIB.
BOUNCER
Brian commisioned ‘Bouncer’ his 3rd boat in the range to allow him to continue with family cruising and exploring. The Boat has a number of key innovations for a RIB, including a hydraulic wheelchair access ramp to allow Paul his son to access the boat using his wheelchair. In the aft corner it also has the added comfort of an enlarged toilet compartment, comfort seating, a microwave and an extra berth. However, Brian being Brian, there is always an expeditionary slant to any of his boats and this is no different, the fuel tanks have been extended to 2 x 130 gallons, giving him a 650 Nm range.
The boat also has the latest E-series Navigation equipment including autopilot and is powered by the 2 x 315 Hp Yamaha’ on TRP drives.
Good Luck Brian and family with the new boat.
Brian, Conor Mc lister with Gary get ready to lauch Bouncer 2

Achanba
‘Achnaba’ commissioned by Mr Mudo Macleod from Argyll in Scotland, it is a Stormforce 11 powered by Twin yamaha’s on TRP’s. Murdo is new to Redbays but not to ribbing, he had an open diesel powered Valinat before taking delivery of Achnaba and he is gobsmacked by the difference in terms of comfort and handling thatthe Redbay Stormforce 11 provides, he is really enjoying his new boat. The boat has been fitted with the latest in Raymarine but maybe it’s most innovative feature is the fitment of the bow thruster which allows Murdo to berth it on his own private pontoon single handedly.
Happy Boating Murdo from all at Redbay.

Bryn Teg
‘Bryn Teg’ has been built for John and Mary McDermott and is the latest development in our 9.5 RIB range, it includes the flush after deck with raised air breather boxes as per the latest generation of Stormforce 11 RIB’s. The specification includes:
- Hot and cold Water and a shower
- Gas Cooker and sink combi unit
- Furuno Navigation
- KAB suspension seating
- Shore Power
- Twin ME372 (165 Hp ) Yamaha’s on TRP drives
- Twin V-Berth Forward
John and Mary are new to Ribbing, they have come from a conventional semi-dispacement Cygnus to a fully plaing 35 knot RIB and they love it. John has many years experience, formally a RNLI coxswain on a Mersey class lifeboat he knows all to well how to handle a boat in any sea condition. His first trip was from Redbay to the Isle of Man in lumpy seas and he was ammazed at the performance of RIB. Bryn Teg will be well tested on Round Ireland cruises and further a field.
Happy Boating John and Mary
