Arran Outdoor continue to support Redbay

Arran Outdoor

Arran Outdoor Education Resource centre has been a long standing customer of Redbay Boats, they bought their first boat back in 2000 and this new vessel is being supplied to replace that original craft. The centre speciallises in taking school and special needs children from all over Scotland into the great outdoors. Mr Nigel Marshall of Arran Outdoor said that the original boat has been driven by thousands of children and has proved to be an invaluable resoure to their facility.

This boat is the 650 model of our 6.5 mtr RIB which has an internally moulded deck structure giving a beautifully clean and very serviceable finish. It has been riggedd with 2 x 90 Hp Evinrude E-TEC outboards and during sea-trialls it was producing 38 knots with 4 persons on board.

The boat has also been built and fully classified to MCA category 4, hence the liferaft which can be seen mounted in front of the console. This allows the centre to run RYA approved power boating courses, which they can deliver right up to the advanced stages.

If you are ever in Arran it may be worth calling in to Lamlash Bay, who knows you may see this boat working away. It will most likely be loaded with kids and you can be sure they will all be grinning from ear to ear.

Redbay Boats would like to thank Arran Outdoor for their continued support and wish them all the success with this new boat and their new centre which will open later this year.

The specification includes:

  • The new Raymarine A65 GPS/Chartplotter system
  • Garmin Dual Frequency Colour Sonar
  • Raymarine Digital Compass
  • MGN280 Saftey Spec
