02 Oct Southampton Boat Show Report 2013
After a wet and windy start conditions improved all round and Southmapton 2013 has proven to be one of the best show campaigns for Redbay Boats in recent years. With several orders already booked and several more in the pipeline, Tom McLaughlin Managong Director of Redbay Boats commented, ‘it was a pleasure to work the show this year, it was one of best in years, there is real energy and excitement entering the market again, peple just want to get on with enjoying themselves and having fun afloat’.
The focal point of the Redbay stand was the Round Ireland Challenge boat which created a real stir, everyone who viewed the boat was fascinated by combination of Scot KPM suspension seats and the advanced SIMRAD navigation package . I suspect that if the challenge were to run again next year there will be many more budding entrants. There was also the added bonus of the challenge video playing alongside the America’s cup footage in the Suzuki sponsored hospitality tent which will have further whet the appetites of the expeditionary type ribsters out there.
Also on display was the Stormforce 7.4-s with the KPM scot setas and the latest Garmin EchoMap 70 touch screen plotter. Interest in this model was particularly strong with a couple of sales already booked for the 2014 season.
With 4 boats in total the two remaining boats were the Stormforce 7.4-c with the latest Hyundau seasall S250s and the Stormforce 6.5 with the Mercury 150 four Stroke. All boats that were on the stand can be trialed at the Redbay Demo weekend in Ocean Village Southampton this weekend. The weekend is hosted by MRL UK the official Redbay dealership for the England South.
