The Stormforce 7.4 demo boat exhibited at this years Southampton Boat Show has found itself a new home in the wilds of Ireland. The new owner Niall O Boyle runs Coastal Zone Services in the beautiful and dramatic Clew Bay area on the west coast of Ireland.
This latest boat, the ‘Valdariya’ will be used by his company for a variety of activities from crew transfer to dive support to thrill and sightseeing rides as it benefits from dual licensing. This means that the boat can operate commercially in both the UK and Ireland as it holds both a MGN280 category 3 licence for UK waters and Departmaent of marine P3 licence for irish waters. The boat is licensed to carry up to 12 persons in UK waters and 9 persons in Irish waters, it also benefits from the latest in Garmin touchscreen chartplotter technology and is powered by the ultra reliable Suzuki DF250.
The boat is quite unique in the respect of the two licences, Niall feels that as the boat is very transpotable it made sense to be able to operate wherever his customer may require. The alternative would have been to purchase two boats and that does not make any sense when Redbay can deliver an all-in-one package.
Niall has had many years experience as a commercial skipper and has also skippered other Stormforce 7.4 boats in previous projects, he said “I was always impressed with the handling of the 7.4, it out preforms many larger RIB’s and it was always my plan to acquire one because of the versatlity that it offers”.
Redbay Boats would like to offer Niall and his team the best of luck with the new vessel “Valdariya” we are sure that it will prove a formidable force in whatever deployment he finds for it.
