 Round the world powerboat “Goodheart”

What’s the connection between an attempt to smash the 61 day record for powerboating around the world and Ireland? Come to Whale Pumps / Munster Simms Engineering Ltd in Bangor on Friday 28th October, and meet ocean adventurer Alan Priddy, who will explain why Whale’s specialised electric pumps for water management are every bit as important as the powerful diesel engines which will hopefully drive “Goodheart” into the history books.

Somewhere along the way, you might also find out the connection with “Turbinia”, in the 1890’s, a boat every bit as revolutionary as “Goodheart”. Alan will also take the opportunity to introduce the final addition to “Goodheart’s” crew, a County Antrim man well qualified for the role. If you want to find out who it is, you’ll have to be there on the day!

Refreshments will be provided, and meanwhile, find out more about this exciting project at www.circumnavigationrecord.com, and visit the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CircumnavigationRecord.

 When: Friday 28th October 2011, 1100

Where: Whale Pumps / Munster Simms Engineering Ltd., Old Belfast Road, Bangor, BT19 1LT
