Background The Stormforce 6.5 shares many features of the larger 7.4 model. This includes a wide beam, high bow, and can be fitted with 18", 19" or 20" diameter tubes. The 6.5 metre was described by Motorboat and Yachting as "A multi-purpose RIB, solid well made boats for customers who want a RIB that will perform well, handle well and continue to do so for many years to come". RIB International has also driven a 6.5 powered with a 140HP Suzuki around Ireland; the 6.5 proved its seakeeping abilities and quality of construction when the going got tough. Hullform The Stormforce 6.5 is a deep V hull form, which is one of the reasons that this RIB has such fantastic abilities in rough offshore conditions. The deep V hull is combined with sprayrails to produce additional lift and improve the hydrodynamics of the hull. The tube is designed to sit firmly in contact with the water surface while at rest; this ensures that the RIB has maximum stability.
Configuration Propulsion can be provided by any engine combination. The Stormforce 6.5 can be fitted with a variety of consoles and a forward cabin. Stormforce 6.5s have been built for leisure, cruising, rescue, diving, police forces, and other commercial users.
