11 Passenger RIB
|
If
you are planning on operating your vessel commercially, then you
will need your RIB to be licensed or coded appropriately. What
license you may require will be dependant on what you are planning
to do and where you will be doing it. Most countries will have
their own specific Regulations governing Commercial Boats.
We
have many years working with both the MCA Code of Practice (now
called MGN280) and the Department of Marine Passenger Boat Regulations.
We have a strong relationship with our surveyors who constantly
inspect the boats during build to ensure compliance. With our
in-house dedicated Naval Architectural & Design Office, we
have capabilities of dealing with Regulations in other countries
as well.
If
you are considering commercially coding a RIB, we recommend that
you contact us to discuss the options as early as possible. We
are renowned in the industry for being able to customise our product
to satisfy the individual requirements of operators.
Redbay
are unique amongst RIB manufactures in that we are able to build
the Stormforce 11 Cabin version to P5 Category for operations
in Eire waters. Read more about this by clicking [here].
Sea
Safari/Passenger RIB Solutions
With
the RIB becoming widely accepted as the best boat for carrying
smaller numbers of tourist or sightseers on smaller excursions,
Redbay Boats have developed customised mouldings to cater for
this type of application. Over the past few years Redbay have
built and coded a number of vessels for commercial operator's
throughout the UK and Ireland. The vessels have been used in for
both passenger carrying between the mainland and local islands
and for sight-seeing. In some cases they have also been adapted
to carry small amounts of freight; another opportunity for the
smaller localised operators. Our RIBs can be coded to carry up
to 12 passengers and can be modified to allow wheelchair access.
Power options vary with the preference being Yamaha Commercially
Rated Diesel Sterndrives, giving excellent fuel economy, brilliant
performance and exceptional aftersales support.

Layouts
vary, some operator's prefer the Wrap-Around
Canopy design as it bolsters their position to facilitate
sightseeing. Operator's that tend to be carrying passengers further
offshore or for all weather commuting generally opt for the Cabin
solution.
The
boats can be fitted with 14 Comfort seats all carrying 4-point
harnesses. The after deck provides a good vantage point for people
to come out and sight-see, or for general kitting up purposes.
The boats have also 2 berths in the bow which will allow operator's
who are engaged in overnight trips a place for the crew to get
their heads down
Dive
Redbay
Boats can manufacture both traditional Open Plan layout RIBs and
Cabin versions for Dive Operations. Cabin versions are becoming
increasingly popular as this provides shelter and comfort for
the helm and crew who are continuously out at sea. The cabin also
allows comfort appliances such as microwaves, fridges, toilets
etc. to be fitted.

Survey
The
wide stable platform of a RIB, and its relatively high TPc values
(measure of how loading affects immersion; due to the buoyancy
in a tube, Ribs can be loaded up without affecting their draft
considerably) makes it ideal for Survey applications. In the past
we have built a range of Ribs dedicated to survey operations.
These have included innovative dry exhaust systems for water sampling,
on board computer and camera systems etc.
