The end of February saw the launch of our third Stormforce 11 in 2011. This RIB is owned by West Coast Motors and will operate a passenger ferry service between Ballycastle, Campbeltown, and Troon, during the summer months. The boat will also be available for charter.
‘Kintyre Express’ is fitted with twin Yamaha ME432 sterndrives, Garmin navigation, Standing toilet, Galley with diesel cooker and fridge, and seating for 12 passengers and 2 crew. She is fully MCA coded to Cat 3.
Loch Lomond National Trust have taken delivery of two new patrol RIBs to join the Stormforce 11 they currently have. The new RIBs are a Stormforce 7.4 fitted with twin 115hp Suzuki outboards, Garmin navigation, and 2 x Scot suspension jockey seats, and a Stormforce 6.1 fitted with a single 115hp Suzuki outboard, and 2 x Scot suspension seats.
Also launched recently was a Stormforce 6.5 for Dolphin Sub Aqua Club. This 6.5 was finished with black gelcoat and black tubes, and is fitted with a single position console, dive bottle rack, and is powered by a Suzuki 175hp outboard.
The end of February also saw a Stormforce 11 which we completed towards the end of last year finally leave on its long journey to the remote Island of St Helena. Before she left we hired a crane to test the lifting eyes. We loaded the boat to almost double her weight and the crane lifted her several inches of the trailer. The lifting eyes and straps proved more than adequate and the boat remained perfectly level whilst being lifted.
