A New Era In Charter Angling

Redbay Boats recently built a new model in it's expanding range - the Stormforce Fastfisher

The Stormforce Fastfisher has been developed by combing our superb sea-keeping Stormforce hard nose hull with the practicality of the Fastfisher 21 . The RIB has a fibre glass deck incorporating side decks; support of the decks was achieved by encasing the inner side of the tubes in GRP thereby creating a glass fibre shield ensuring that no tube is exposed inside the boat. Outside the tubes are triple clad with heavy duty "D" fendering ensuring no large hooks can puncture the tubes. This boat can operate with tubes totally deflated.

The forward cabin comes from a Fast Fisher 21 and is bonded to the bow deck, giving 6ft of headroom; the floor is raised ensuring no water can enter the cabin. The cabin is fitted with a starboard console, KAB Seat, and bench/berth on the port side. Masses of locker space has been created and a gas cooker and oven has also been incorporated into the cabin (the Skipper likes his Sunday Lunch!).

The engine is a ME421 Yamaha Diesel and has been fitted into a waterproof engine box which doubles as a seat. Forward there is a liferaft rack and storage for 4 fish boxes. A stainless steel underfloor fuel tank will give a range of 400 miles.

Electronic equipment includes Raymarine 435 Colour GPS, Garmin 126 GPS, Garmin 240 Fish Finder, Simrad RD68 DSC VHF, ICOM handheld VHF and compass. The boat has been fully coded; equipment includes a liferaft, lifejackets complete with lights, survival suits, fire extinguisher, fire buckets, first aid, water etc.

During sea trials with 12 persons on board, speeds of 28 knots were achieved. The RIB is believed to be the fastest charter fishing vessel in Ireland.
