Corryvreckan, Redbay Boats Demonstrator, has recently been fitted with new Yamaha Sterndrives

Redbay Boats are delighted to have just installed two new Yamaha ME422 High Output engines to our demo boat. Corryvreckan, built earlier this year, now has the benefits of extra power from the new units. Each ME422 High Output produces 275hp, giving the Stormforce 11m RIB a total installed power of 550hp.

Redbay have worked closely with Yamaha UK and Yamaha Japan in the fitting of the new engines, following several visits to Redbay. Over the next few months, we will be extensively testing the engines, and Yamaha will be monitoring the performance and reliability of the new units.

Corryvreckan is already benefiting from the added power and more instant throttle response, with an extra 3-4 knots easily achieved with the new units.
