Redbay Boats have just completed two seperate contracts for two new passenger boats, built to comply with the Department of Marine P5 passenger boat regulations. The first boat delivered in early April was commissioned by Mr Pat Cowman of Belcross Marine. It will initially operate as a safety and crew transfer boat on the Corrib gas project before going into service as a ferry/ sight seeing boat in the Brodahaven Bay area. The boat has a number of special features with and a very extensice specification some of which includes the following:

  • Twin 5012 touchscreen Garmin GPS/Radar chart plotters
  • Garmin HD depth sounder
  • Echopilot Forward looking Sonar
  • Twin ICOM DSC VHF’s
  • GSM telephone/faxing system
  • Seapro Computer Navigation
  • Autopilot
  • Galley with a Wallas Diesel powered ceramic stove
  • Full standing toilet compartment
  • Crew table with on-board Inverter power
  • 12 Scotia passenger seats with 4-point harness
  • 2 KAB Suspension seats with 4-point harness

The boat will operate 24/7 and will have two crew men crew living aboard at all times, thus the requirement for the significant specification
